Tata Motors launches AMT-equipped Tiago at Rs 4.79 lakh

New Delhi, Aug 20 : Tata Motors on Sunday launched the mid-end variant of its hatchback Tiago model priced at Rs 4.79 lakh incorporating the new automated manual transmission (AMT) technology, the introduction of which earlier in the high-end variant has been well received, the company said.

“To ensure better customer accessibility to AMT, Tata Motors has now introduced a new AMT variant XTA at just RS 4.79 lakh,” the company said in a statement here.

“To cater to the increased demand for AMT, we introduce the attractively priced TIAGO XTA, aiming to consolidate our growth in the hatchback segment,” Tata Motors Head Marketing Passenger Vehicle Business Unit Vivek Srivatsa said in the statement.

He said AMT makes for easier manoeuvrability in heavy traffic conditions and during parking.

“AMT is ideally suited for India’s’traffic conditions, reducing the stress of driving at an affordable price, without compromising on fuel efficiency,” he said.

The automobile major said Tiago currently contributes 83 per cent of its overall hatchback sales

“With over 1 lakh bookings, of which 65,000 cars have been delivered to customers, Tiago has helped Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle business unit hit the road to recovery,” the statement said.

New Delhi, Feb 9: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday showed support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by unveiling ‘Swachh Can’, a portable bin for users of Hyundai cars.

It was launched under Hyundai Motor India Limited’s ‘Swachh Move’ that supports Modi’s cleanliness campaign.

“‘Swachh Can’ is a simple yet powerful idea and I would like to request every single car owner to go ahead and use it and play their role in the Clean India Movement,” Shah Rukh, dressed in a black and white suit with a waistcoat, said at the Auto Expo at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, on Thursday.

Shah Rukh, also the Hyundai Corporate Brand Ambassador, has even taught his youngest son AbRam to focus on cleanliness and be a part of the cleanliness movement.

YK Koo, Managing Director and CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, said: “We recently conducted a survey of car owners and found 98 per cent respondents care about cleanliness of outside infrastructure such as streets, and more than 95 per cent respondents favoured they would prefer a portable covered bin inside the car in which waste items could be disposed off. This led us to innovation of ‘Swachh Can.”

Starting from March 1, the Hyundai product line-up will come with a factory-fitted ‘Swachh Can’.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Luxury automobile major Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday launched its Mercedes Maybach S 650 and teased its E-Class All-Terrain model for its upcoming India debut.

The company also launched its Made-in-India BS-VI Mercedes Maybach S 560 to continue Maybach’s popularity in India.

While the S 650 model would cost Rs 2.73 crore (ex-showroom), the S 560 would be priced at Rs 1.94 crore, the company said.

The luxury car brand also showcased it futuristic electric vehicle “EQ concept”.

The company made the announcement at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo.

The “Auto Expo — The Motor Show” 2018 is being held from February 9-14, , at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

However, February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.

New Delhi, Feb 7: Automobile major Hyundai Motor India unveiled the new Elite i20 at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo in Greater Noida on Wednesday. The company also said that it will launch nine new models, including an electric vehicle in the Indian market by 2020. 

The company made the announcement at the pre-open event of the 14th Auto Expo.

The “Auto Expo — The Motor Show” 2018 is being held from February 9-14, 2018 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

However, February 7-8 is reserved for the media and exhibitors.

Over the years, the Auto Expo has become much less of an event and more of a phenomenon considering that in 2016, the ‘2016 Auto Expo’ was the third most searched topic on Google in India as per Google records. Engaging the populace through a flash-flood of media, with over 2.9 lakh tweets being generated around the Expo in 2018, the 2016 edition saw over 7 lakh people in 7 days, Preparations this year will encompass 8 lakh visitors over the 7-day period.
