Syrian ‘Twitter girl’ safe amid heavy bombing


Damascus, Dec 7: The seven-year-old Bana al-Abed who experienced life-threatening moments in such a small age in war-torn Syria’s Aleppo.

She is known for sharing all horrible moments she is facing in Aleppo. Her tweets about bombing brought international attention.

Meanwhile, there are reports that She has fled her home amid intense fighting. Her father said that she and her family was safe.

According to a report in Telegraph on Tuesday, that cited Abed’s tweet, confirmed the news of her well-being.

“Hello my friends, how are you? I am fine. I am getting better without medicine with too much bombing. I miss you. – Bana,” she tweeted.

As Syrian government forces neared their home recently, the family escaped from their for life and the tweets started to appear less.Bana-al-abedThe account on Sunday tweeted: “We are sure the army is capturing us now. We will see each other another day dear world. Bye.- Fatemah.”

However, as there was no update for the next 24-hours which forced her followers to launch a hashtag campaign “WhereIsBana”.

A tweet on Monday night read: “Under attack. Nowhere to go, every minute feels like death. Pray for us. Goodbye – Fatemah.”

Abed had been posting, with her mother’s help, heart-rending and emotionally strong tweets about life in the war-torn Syrian city of Aleppo.

Abed and her mother Fatemah have garnered more than 211,000 followers since late September as they tweet regularly about war in Aleppo.
