Swamy writes to Modi, seeks SIT investigation against Ratan Tata


BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy has asked for Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation against industrialist Ratan Tata for alleged money laundering.

Swamy wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swamy listed four criminal offenses committed by Ratan Tata and asserted on his prosecution and “without the interference of any in the government to protect him.”

After the surprise decision of Tata Sons to sack its chairman Cyrus Mistry, Swamy had tweeted, “For the record, Rattan Tata is not a Tata. His father Naval was selected from an orphanage for the childless Tata. In 2G Rattan was Rotten.”

“Rotten Tata be charged for conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, criminal misappropriation, money laundering and company law violation,” the BJP MP had also said.

Earlier, Mistry wrote a letter to Board members of Tata Sons after he was removed and raised concerns over AirAsia which is Tata group’s joint enterprise. He narrated that forensic investigation dishonest transactions of 22 crores rupees which include unreal entities in India and Singapore.

Swamy has challenged the clearances given to the airline. Swamy said that either Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) “has acted illegally” or the responses which are filed by the authorities before the court are “false and misleading.”
