Sushma Swaraj meets kins of Indians missing in Iraq

New Delhi, July 16: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj along with Ministers of State for MEA MJ Akbar and Gen VK Singh (retd) today met the kins of 39 Indians who are missing in Iraq since 2014.

While addressing media, Swaraj said “The day Iraq PM declared Mosul is liberated from ISIS, I asked VK Singh to go to Erbil,”  news agency ANI quoted.

She also said that the missing Indians may be lodged in northern Iraq’s Badush jail on which fighting is still going on.

Showing concern over the missing Indians Swaraj added ” The day Iraq PM declared Mosul is liberated from ISIS, I asked VK Singh to visit Erbil.

The meeting comes five days after V K Singh visited Iraq to gather information on the missing Indians.
