‘Surgical Strike Day’is meant  to serve BJP’s political ends , says Kapil Sibal

New Delhi, Sep 21 : On the Surgical Strike Day diktat by the Modi government  to institutions, Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal asked, “Will UGC dare to celebrate   8th November as Surgical Strike Day” on the people of India by way of Demonetisation announced suddenly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Slamming Modi government, former union minister Kapil Sibal said that the Centre’s decision to observe the “Surgical Strike Day”is meant  to serve BJP’s political ends.

Kapil Sibal tweeted, “UGC directs VC’s of all universities to celebrate 29th September as Surgical Strike Day .Is this meant to educate or to serve BJP’s political ends ?Will UGC dare celebrate 8th November as Surgical Strike Day depriving the poor of their livelihoods ?”

On the directions by Modi government, the University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday has directed universities and higher educational institutions across the country to observe September 29 as “Surgical Strike Day” to mark the second anniversary of the Indian Army’s daring strike at terror pods across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
