Supreme Court’s administration is not in order: Top four SC judges

Supreme Court Judges

In a first, Justice J. Chelameshwar & 3 other judges of the Supreme Court to hold a press conference on Friday.

An extraordinary event in the history of the institution said Justice Chemleshwar at the press conference.

With no pleasure we are compelled take the decision to call a press conference. The administration of the SC is not in order & many things which are less than desirable have happened in last few months: Justice J.Chelameswar

We met CJI with a specific request which unfortunately couldn’t convince him that we were right therefore, we were left with no choice except to communicate it to the nation that please take care of the institution: Justice J.Chelameswar

There is an issue of assignment of a case which is raised in that letter (to CJI): Justice Ranjan Gogoi, on being asked further if it is about CBI Judge BH Loya, he said, ‘yes.’

There are many wise men saying many wise things in this country. We don’t want wise men saying 20 years from now that Justice Chelameswar, Gogoi, Lokur and Kurian Joseph sold their souls and didn’t do the right thing by our constitution,” Justice Chelameswar said, concluding the press conference.

Let the nation decide that: Justice J.Chelameswar on if the CJI should be impeached.

We collectively tried to persuade CJI that certain things aren’t in order to take remedial measures but unfortunately, our efforts failed: Justice J.Chelameswar

It is with great anguish&concern that we thought it proper to highlight certain judicial orders passed by this Court that adversely affected functioning of justice delivery system & independence of HCs besides impacting administrative functioning of CJI’s office: SC Judges to CJI

It is too well settled in the jurisprudence of this country that the Chief Justice is only first amongst the equals- nothing more or nothing less: Supreme Court Judges in letter to Chief Justice of India.
