Supreme Court transfers all Bihar shelter home cases to CBI

New Delhi, Nov 28: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate all the cases related to 17 Bihar shelter homes and their owners. 

The top court also asked the Bihar government to provide all the logistical support and assistance to the prob agency team.

Handing over the investigation, a bench of Justice Madan B. Lokur, Justice S. Abdul Nazeer and Justice Deepak Gupta said that “If the state government had done its job properly, the cases may not have gone to the CBI.”

Permitting the probe agency to expand its existing team of officials that was already investigated he Muzaffarpur horror, the apex court said that none of the members of the investigating team would be withdrawn without the permission of the court.
