New Delhi, Oct 30: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Tuesday said the Supreme court will decide that when Ayodhya case will be heard.

“The court will decide when will Ayodhya case be heard. It can’t be decided by BJP or Congress”, he told media.

Sibal further said that “If the government want to make a law, then make it. Congress hasn’t stopped them”.

The Congress leader also targetted the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party for raking up Ayodhya issue before the upcoming elections

“This issue is raised as elections approach. Have they been sleeping for last 4 years?”, he stated.

The Supreme Court on Monday directed the listing of the Ayodhya title suit matter in January 2019 before an appropriate bench.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi deferred the hearing for next year on a batch of pleas challenging the 2010 Allahabad High Court order trifurcating the disputed site in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya into three parts for Ram Lalla, Nirmohi Akhara and the original Muslim litigant.
