Supreme Court issues show cause notice to Amitabh Chaudhary and other BCCI office bearers


New Delhi, Aug 23: The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued show cause notice to BCCI secretary Amitabh Chaudhary, treasurer Anirudh Chaudhary and acting president CK Khanna to explain delay in implementation of R M Lodha committee Reforms.

Apart from this, the apex court also asked the Committee of Administrators (CoA)  to draft a new constitution on the basis of its order on the Justice R M Lodha committee recommendations  by August 30.

A bench of Justice Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud in its order agreed to re-examine the one state one vote principle, the strength of the selection committee and the status of associate members.

Posting the matter for September 19, the court said a copy of the draft constitution would be given to all the counsel representing the BCCI, State associations, Railways and Association of Indian Universities and others as all of them are seeking the amendments of the Justice Lodha Committee’s recommendations.
