Sunny Friday morning in Delhi, heat wave likely


New Delhi, April 5: Delhiites witnessed a sunny Friday morning with the minimum temperature recorded at 20 degrees Celsius, the season’s average, while the maximum is expected to hover around 39 degrees.

There is a possibility of the heat wave at few places following thunderstorm towards the afternoon, the weather office said.

“There would be mainly clear sky but it will become partly cloudy with the possibility of dust storm and thunderstorm towards the afternoon and evening. Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at few places,” news agency IANS quoted an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official as saying.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 76 per cent.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season’s average, while the minimum was 18.7 degrees Celsius, average for the season
