Sub-inspector deployed for PM’s Hyderabad visit shot himself

Hyderabad, Nov 26: In a shocking incident, a sub-inspector of police who was deployed as part of the security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ongoing visit in Hyderabad, shot himself dead on Saturday.

The cop ended his life in a flat at Mylardevpally near PVNR Expressway, about two km from SVP National Police Academy, where Modi was addressing the annual conference of top police officials across the country.

Sridhar shot himself with his service revolver on 19th floor of an apartment. The police official was among the personnel deployed on high-rise building in areas surrounding the Police Academy.

Sridhar was hailing from Warangal district, he was called to Hyderabad for deployment as part of the security for the Prime Minister’s two-day visit.

Meanwhile, Police is investigating the suicide.

Modi, who had a night halt at the Police Academy, was addressing DGPs and IGPs of states and heads of central paramilitary forces.
