Congress attacks PM Modi, says Stop using Blood of our soldiers for ‘vote bank’

Whenever Modi government starts failing, it uses armed forces for political and electoral gains: Congress

New Delhi, June 28 : Congress on Thursday made a scathing attack on the Modi government, saying whenever there are black clouds hovering on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, they use the armed forces for political and electoral gains.

Asking Modi to respond to Nation “Why surgical strikes are being used as a political tool”, the senior Congress leader said, “Is Modi Govt using our soldiers as political fodder and using their sacrifice to gain votes?. Let the ruling dispensation remember that the blood and sacrifice of our brave soldiers cannot become a political vote garnering tool for the Modi government and the BJP.”

The Congress became furious after some TV channels released video footage of Indian Army’s surgical strikes that were conducted on the intervening night of 28 and 29 September  2016  against terror launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and claimed that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was using the sacrifice of soldiers to garner votes.

Congress Spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said,”Our Armed Forces have always made every Indian proud by their indomitable courage, We are proud that our forces have successfully conducted multiple Surgical Strikes over last two decades. Nation seeks answers as Modi Government seeks to politicize it through ‘headlines management’.”

Congress leader said, “Eager to claim credit for surgical strikes, BJP President Amit Shah dishonored 70 year long history of bravery and sacrifice of our Armed Forces by making a disgraceful statement on Oct 7, 2016, that ‘Indian Army had crossed the LoC for the first time in 68 years’:

Surjewala went ahead in an attacking mode, saying, Surgical strikes was shamelessly politicised by the BJP for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2017.”

Contradicting the Modi government that Congress has always supported the Modi government on surgical strikes , Surjewala said, “The then Congress President Sonia Gandhi and current president Rahul Gandhi unequivocally supported the armed forces and the goverment.”
