Stop it! Acid attack turning lives to ashes, 2 woman killed in Bengal


Kolkata, Aug 7: The acid attack that turns people’s life to ashes is still continues in many areas, in recent three different acid attacks, two women died and another sustained serious burn injuries in West Bengal, police informed on Sunday.

Among dead, a 30-year-old deaf and dumb woman died of burn injuries in Tehatta of Nadia district after an unidentified man threw acid on her when she was sleeping on Saturday, another woman succumbed to her injuries in Trakeshwar area of Hooghly district, after battling for two weeks.

Jyotshna Malik, a widow, was attacked with acid on July 24 for denying advances by a man.

In Burdwan district’s Kalna, another woman suffered acid attack and was hospitalised serious burn injuries on her face.
