Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday accused Separatists of making an attempt to spoil the future of children of Kashmir by misguiding them and said cases against a minor and those “misled into stone pelting” stone pelters in the Valley will be withdrawn.
Home Minister said, “They(Separatists) can play any kind of politics, but they should not play with future of children, these children not only children of Kashmir but also of India, they are an asset. Keeping this in mind we took back cases of first time stone pelters.”
Addressing a Sports Conclave at SK Indoor Stadium in Srinagar, Rajnath said: “Sports can bring a change in your lives. Children can be misguided easily but we know the truth that is why we have withdrawn all stone-pelting cases against them.”
Asserting that NDA is committed to bringing peace in the Valley, Rajnath said, “I would like to repeat, that no matter how many obstacles come in our way, we will not be deterred in our aim to bring lasting peace to Kashmir and I have no hesitation in saying that our security forces including Army and Police, have worked with utmost restraint.”
Home Minister Rajnath Singh while being thankful to the youth of state for being positive in terms of development and prosperity lauded the leadership of Secretary JKSSC Waheed Ur Rehman Parra for taking the initiative of channelising the energy of youth of state in a positive direction.
At a youth convention organised by ally People’s Democratic Party or PDP, the minister said the Narendra Modi government “has a lot of love for Kashmir… We will change the face (tasveer) and the destiny (taqdeer) of Jammu and Kashmir… I assure you all”.
“I assure you that we will do all that we can… and even a bit extra to ensure that our brothers and sisters in Jammu and Kashmir progress with the rest of the country,” the minister added.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti appreciated the role of Sports Council and termed the youngsters and sportspersons present on the occasion as future of the state.
Meanwhile, eight prominent sportspersons were also felicitated by CM and HM.
Home Minister is on a two-day visit to the State of Jammu Kashmir.
