Mumbai, Oct 10: Ending all the confusion, Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar on Tuesday said that all the states have agreed to bring petrol and diesel under the Goods and Services Tax.
In an interview with BTVi , Mungantiwar stated “All the states have given the permission to bring petrol and diesel under GST. But we have to wait for the right time”, news agency IANS reported.
“All states have their own issues. At the time of GST implementation, all the rights were entrusted to the GST Council,” he further asserted.
This comes amidst of growing pressure on both the Centre and the states to scale down taxes on the two fuels and bring them under GST.
