SP’s never ending feud – Shivpal expelled Pandey and Akhilesh met Governor

A day after Mulayam Singh Yadav tried to project an ‘all is well’ image via a media briefing, saying that “the party and family are united”, Shivpal had expelled Tej Narayan pandey alias Pawan Pandey on charges of indiscipline.

The feud in the Samajwadi Party is showing  no signs of ending, and in next addition to the series of events, SP State unit chief Shivpal Yadav on Wednesday expelled minister Tej Narain Pandey alias Pawan Pandeyfrom the party for six years. Pandey is considered close to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

Pandey is expelled for having a clash with party MLC Ashu Malik at the party meet on Monday. Shivpal announced his expulsion in a press conference on Wednesday at Lucknow and said “Pawan Pandey is being expelled from the Samajwadi Party for six years on charges of indiscipline.”

Shivpal also said that he had written a letter to the Chief Minister requesting him to sack Pandey from the Ministry. Although he tried to maintain that there was no dispute in the party and the Mulayam Singh Yadav family.

Pandey had alleged that he was beaten up by Malik, who had also alleged that he was slapped by the former at the Chief Minister’s residence. Malik had already lodged a written complaint against Pandey and had accused him of attacking him, but no FIR has been registered in the matter so far.

Meanwhile Shivpal had moved out of his official residence and had shifted to his private residence. In order to show his disconcert towards Akhilesh and his government, Shivpal’s staff had also removed his name plate from his official residence. It is being seen as a symbolic representation given by him that he is no longer in mood to be a part of Akhilesh led government.

Shivpal was the second most senior minister in the four and half years old Samajwadi Party government, He was removed last week from the ministry for the second time in the last one month by Akhilesh.

A close aide of Shivpal told us – “The red beacon atop his vehicle has also been taken away yesterday and he has surrendered his official vehicle to the state’s ‘Rajya Sampatti Vibhag’ (State Property Department).

Akhilesh’s trip  to Raj Bhawan-

Immediately after sacking of Pawan pandey, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav met Governor Ram Naik on wednesday and briefed him on the prevailing political situation in the state. His sudden visit to Rajbhawan triggered speculations in the ongoing political crisis. Akhilesh left for Raj Bhawan when he was  in the middle of a meeting with party legislators and senior leaders in order  to finalize details of his proposed ‘rath yatra’ from November 3.

His sudden visit to Raj Bhawan was blatantly shared in social media and some of his supporters even claimed that he had gone with a support letter of 205 MLAs in order to testify any probable power show over the floor. His sudden visit caught everyone by surprise, although some of his closed aides said that an appointment had been sought in advance.

While sources in Raj Bhawan told WFN that Akhilesh had briefed the Governor on the prevailing political situation in the state. But his supporters claimed that this visit could have been in connection with the four vacancies in the ministries after sacking of Shivpal Yadav, Om Prakash Singh, Narad Rai and Sayed Shadaab Fatima.

The feud in the Samajwadi Party showed no signs of ending though Shivpal maintained even on Wednesday that there was no dispute in the Samajwadi Party and the Mulayam Singh Yadav family. Akhilesh’s visit to raj Bhawan had added fuel to the feud and it is being expected that both the camps might exchange more fire.
