Popular South star Oviyaa has landed herself in legal trouble after posting a controversial tweet against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The former ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ posted the message just a day before PM’s visit to Tamil Nadu on Sunday February 14).
Oviyaa posted #GoBackModi from her Twitter handle on February 13, 2021.
Oviyaa’s action did not go down well with Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary D Alexis Sudhakar, who approached the Superintendent of Police, CB-CID in Chennai, and filed a petition demanding probe whether the tweet by Oviyaa was meant to incite public disorder. Sudhakar has demanded that the law enforcement agencies must take action against Oviyaa under section 69 A of IT Act r/w 124 A, 153 A, 294 of the IPC.
Oviyaa made her debut in 2010 Tamil drama Kalavani and has worked in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. She has worked in films such as Marina, Moodar Koodam and Madha Yaanai Koottam amongst others.
Oviyaa became famous after the release of Kalakalappu in 2012. In 2017, Oviyaa participated in ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ and was one of the most popular contestants of that edition of the superhit reality TV show.
