Sonia files nomination from Raebareli, says PM Modi not invincible

Raebareli, April 11: UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Thursday filed nomination papers for Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

On being asked if she thinks PM Narendra Modi is invincible, Gandhi said that “Not at all. Don’t forget 2004. Vajpayee Ji was invincible, but we won”.

Before filing the documents, the Congress Veteran held a 700-metre mega road show.

Earlier in a day, accompanied by her family members — Son and Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Daughter and party General Secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra performed ‘Havan’.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Dinesh Pratap Singh against Sonia Gandhi.

While the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has not fielded candidates in Amethi and Raebareli.

Voting in Uttar Pradesh to be held in seven phases from April 11 and May 19.

Rae Bareli will go to polls in the fifth phase on May 6. Results will be declared on May 23.
