An investigation committee led by Uttar Pradesh Upper Chief Secretary to arrived in Sonbhadra on Wednesday where 10 people were killed in Sonbhadra due to firing over a land dispute on July 17 that arose over a piece of land between the Gujjar and Gond communities.
The committee has to give its report within 10 days.The records of the land belong to the time when Sonbhadra was a part of Mirzapur district, till 1989. Some records are destroyed after a specified period of time. The same is the case here,” Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Yogendra Bahadur Singh told
The shaky video shows tribals and the village headman and his supporters clashing on an open field in broad daylight. The upper caste group attacked the tribals to take possession of 90 bighas of disputed land in Sonbhadra district’s Ghorawal area.
So far, 29 people have been arrested in connection with the clashes while the incident has kicked off a huge political storm between the ruling BJP and Congress.
