New Delhi, June 17: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is concerned about BJP’s control in Uttar Pradesh and therefore, advised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to solve UP’s “water crisis” within next two years.
Modi has now instructed Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to
expedite projects related to water resources so as to fulfill the demand of over 20 crore people of India’s largest state till 2022, the year Uttar Pradesh goes to the polls.
Earlier, Modi has written personal letters to UP’s village pradhans to conserve water which includes water-starved regions of Bundelkhand and Vindhyachal.
Both agreed to focus on Bundelkhand where ‘water riots’ often create law and order problems. Sonbhadra and Mirzapur face acute water problem.
