New Delhi, Oct 6, 2016: The Patiala House Court will on Thursday asks Election commission to authenticate certificates of Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani on a complaint registered against her for allegedly giving false information regarding her academic qualifications.
The Court also adjourns matter till 15 October.
The Minister had given information about her educational qualifications in affidavits to the Election Commission in order to contest various polls.
In June 2015, a case was lodged by freelance writer Ahmed Khan, who accused Irani of giving wrong information about her educational qualifications in affidavits.
Khan’s advocate had informed the court that Irani, in her affidavit for 2004 Lok Sabha elections, stated her educational qualification as BA from Delhi University.
