SMART drone launched for checking illegal mining, poaching and cutting of trees

Haldwani, September 01: In order to save wildlife and to conserve environment, the Haldwani state forest department has launched Smart Drone patrolling.

The drones will monitor wildlife, illegal mining, poaching and cutting of trees on Wednesday through the drone which the state forest department has formed a drone called ‘Falcon Force’.

Started as a pilot project in the region, SMART drone patrolling stands for Achievable,Relevant,Specific and Measurable.

Time bound patrolling has been launched in five forest divisions of western circle of Kumaon.

As for now, one drone has been deployed as a pilot project. In coming days, total 12 drones will be inducted in the hilly region.
