New Delhi, Feb 4, 2017: BJP Karnataka unit president B S Yeddyurappa on Saturday said that former Congress leader S.M. Krishna will join the party soon.

Last week, he resigned from the Congress by alleging that he was being sidelined in the party because of his age.

“SM Krishna has decided to join BJP. We don’t know when for certain, we’ll fix that soon. But he is joining 100 percent,” Yeddyurappa told media.

Krishna led the Congress to victory in Karnataka in 1999 and served as the chief minister till 2004.

He also served as the governor of Maharashtra for the period 2004-2008.

Krishna was also made the minister for external affairs in Dr. Manmohan Singh’s cabinet, and resigned from it in 2012. Ever since that party did not give him any big responsibility during the 2013 Assembly election too.
