Situation in Tripura not conducive for holding a free and fair election: Sitaram Yechury

Communist leader, Sitaram Yechury on Sunday claimed that situation in Tripura is not favourable to conduct a free and fair election. Stating that terror is wide spread in the atmosphere of Tripura the leader said,”In such situation to expect a free & fair election is preposterous.”

The CPI(M) leader also said that people are not coming out to buy their daily requirements.

Sitaram Yechury told ANI that his party cadre are under constant threat. He informed that the left approached the election commission to postpone the poll on the Charilam constituency but they refused.

Stating the election of Charilam constituency as undemocratic and farce the leader said that if they participate in the election then it will be exposing more of party workers for more harm.
