midday meal

Haryana, May 12: A group of students of a Government Girls Senior Secondary School in Faridabad on Thursday found a small snake in their mid-day meal.

Sources said that before some girls of Class Seven were about to start eating, one of the students spotted a small dead snake on her plate and raised an alarm.

On finding the snake, the girls were immediately stopped from consuming the meal, but unfortunately some students had already eaten portions of it.

Few girls even vomited as soon as they had eaten the meal.

The district administration was contacted and officials immediately stopped other schools from consuming mid-day meals supplied by the ISKCON Foundation.

A sample of the food was later collected and sent to a laboratory for testing in Chandigarh.
