New Delhi, July 7: The Patiala House court on Saturday granted a bail to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor in connection with the death case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
‘No requirement to file a formal bail. Anticipatory bail had been granted by sessions court’, said the Judge.

Meanwhile, Public prosecutor and Shashi Tharoor’s counsel opposed the applications moved by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy seeking Court’s nod to allow him to assist the prosecution in the case and a direction to the police to produce the report of vigilance inquiry conducted earlier.
Counsels for Shashi Tharoor also questioned Swamy’s locus standi in the case.
On the related note, the Court fixed July 26 for the scrutiny of documents and consideration of the application.
The sessions court on Wednesday granted an anticipatory bail to Tharoor asking him to furnish a bond of Rs 1 lakh.
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a suite of Delhi’s five-star hotel on the night of January 17, 2014.
