New Delhi, Sep 28, 2016: The Supreme Court on Wednesday deferred a hearing on cancellation of bail of former Siwan MP Mohammed Shahabuddin for tomorrow.

Earlier, The hearing on cancellation of RJD’s strongman Shahabuddin bail, which was scheduled to take on September 26, was adjourned after senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, defending Shahabuddin asked for more time to study the case.

Activist lawyer Prashant Bhushan had challenged the bail given to Shahabuddin by the Patna High Court.

However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government filed an appeal in the apex court, challenging the Court’s order granting bail.

Earlier, Shahabuddin said he is ready to go back to jail if the apex court ordered it. He refused to comment on the apex court order which did not grant an interim stay on his bail.
