Militants killed in Poonch Kashmir, gunfight continues

The clashes between Militants and Security forces in Poonch are on the peak with seven dead militants and one police constable too.

The tension has not stopped since Sunday morning; the exchange of fire between militants and security forces is ongoing at the mini secretariat building. Security forces have encountered four militants today.

Security forces found the body of a militant inside an under construction mini secretariat building in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, where a gunfight is continuing.

According to media reports, there are militants hiding in the building and are firing at intervals. At first, security forces and police were not fighting back but now drones are being used to locate and pin down every militant present in the building.

“The building and adjacent areas were surrounded and exchange of fire were continuing between the security forces and some surviving militants still holed up in the building,” the official said.

Yesterday, three militants were killed and an elderly couple was kept hostage but fortunately, were rescued during day-long clashes. A police constable was killed and five others (policemen and army men) were injured.

As of now, total of seven militants are dead and one police constable too.
