SC to hear Rafale review petitions on March 6

Rafale deal scam

New Delhi, March 2 : The Supreme Court will hear on March 6 a series of petitions seeking review of its December 14 judgement on #Rafale fighter jet deal, in which it had refused to order a probe into the deal of procuring 36 Rafale jets from France.

The review petitions has been filed by former union ministers Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie, advocate Prashant Bhushan, and Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh allegeing that the apex court judgment is riddled with fault lines.

The petitioners has also questioned the judgment’s dismissal of lack of sovereign guarantee from the French government’s side as a “minor deviation”.

The top court had on February 26 agreed to hear in open court the petitions seeking review of its December verdict that had dismissed pleas challenging the deal between India and France for procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets.
