Kerala, August 4: The controversial issue of ‘Love Jihad’ raised in Kerala was entertained in the Supreme Court on Friday.
The apex court issued a notice to the Kerala government and NIA in connection of the case and sought its reply on the matter.
As per the ANI reports, the next hearing in the case is due on next week.
A Kerala youth knocked at the Supreme court challenging the High Court order in which his marriage was barred calling it as ‘Love Jihad’. He contended in his petition that the order violates Hindu women’s right to freedom.
Kerala continues to witness a spate of Love Jihad cases where girls have been allegedly asked to convert their religion in the name of love.
