SC orders to shift Shahabuddin from Siwan jail to Tihar


New Delhi, Feb 15, 2017: The Supreme Court of India ordered to shift Rashtriya Janata Dal’s strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin from the Siwan jail in Bihar to Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Wednesday.

The court also ordered to conduct the trial through video conferencing.

The judgement pronounced by Justice Misra on a plea filed by Asha Ranjan, wife of slain journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, seeking to shift of Shahabuddin for a free and fair trial in the case.

The apex court asked the Patna High Court to decide in four months some of the matters relating to the cases against Shahabuddin pending before it.
