Chennai, May 20 : Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth, who has confirmed his entry into politics, on Sunday said the Supreme Court has ensured that justice is prevailed in the Karnataka political turmoil after the recent Assembly poll result which gave a fractured mandate.
Talking to reporters after a meeting with office-bearers of the women’s wing of Rajini Makkal Mandram at his Poes Garden residence here, he said it was wrong on the part of Karnataka Governor to grant 15 days’ time to Mr B S Yeddyurappa to prove his majority in the Assembly.
”Thankfully Justice was ensured by the Supreme Court.
It is a victory for democracy’, he said, about the resignation of the BJP government and the Governor inviting Congress-JD(S) combine to form the next government in Karnataka.
The one man BJP government headed by Mr Yeddyurappa was sworn in on Thursday, but he was forced to resign on Saturday as the BJP, which had won a mere 104 seats, failed to secure numbers for a majority, after the Supreme Court directed him to seek a trust vote immediately.
