New Delhi, Dec 18: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday, reacting to the verdict of the high-stakes assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, said  he was “satisfied, not disappointed”.

Gandhi came up with this statement while speaking outside the Parliament.

After witnessing neck and neck fight, the Bharatiya Janta Party managed to reach the halfway mark.

Later in a day, taking to twitter the newly elected Congress President thanked people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh for showing love. He also praised party workers for contesting with immense courage.

“The Congress party accepts the verdict of the people and congratulates the new governments in both states. I thank the people of Gujarat and Himachal with all my heart for the love they showed me”, he tweeted.

“My Congress brothers and sisters, you have made me very proud. You are different than those you fought because you fought anger with dignity. You have demonstrated to everyone that the Congress’s greatest strength is its decency and courage”, Gandhi said.
