Chennai, Oct 2: V.K. Sasikala, who is currently lodge at Bengaluru prison after her conviction in a disproportionate assets case, may come out soon on parole to visit her ailing husband M. Natarajan.
She has appealed for parole and expected to come out on Tuesday, her nephew and leader of one of the AIADMK factions T.T.V. Dinakaran told media.
“We have applied for parole for our General Secretary. She might come out on parole tomorrow (Tuesday) most probably,” he stated.
Dinakaran said advocates have demamded for a 15-day parole but he was not sure how many days authorities would grant the leave.
When asked about the health condition of Mr. Natarajan, who is awaiting a liver transplant in a hospital in Chennai, Dinakaran said he is quite “stable”.
According to the latest statement from Gleneagles Global Health City, where Natarajan is admitted, he has a history of chronic liver disease and he is receiving treatment from the last six months.
Sasikala’s husband has been registered with the Tamilnadu Organ Sharing (TNOS) waiting list for deceased donor liver transplantation.
“Currently, he is admitted at the Liver Intensive Care Unit with decompensated liver disease leading to liver failure, kidney failure and lung congestion”, it said, adding he is receiving dialysis and other intensive care therapies under supervision of world’s famous liver transplant surgeon Mohamed Rela.
