Sand mining case: CBI raids IAS officer house, other places in UP, Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 5: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday launched searches at multiple locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the illegal sand mining case of Uttar Pradesh.

The probe agency also conducted raids at residences of IAS officer B Chandrakala, BSP leader Satyadev Dikshit and SP MLC Ramesh Mishra.

Searches are bieng held in Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Hamirpur and Jalaun.

Illegal mining is a long standing issue of Bundelkhand region. The CBI had taken over the probe into the matter following the directions of the Allahabad High Court.
