NAGPUR: Rs 45,000 and two mobile phones were stolen from the residence of Indian cricket team pacer Umesh Yadav near Shankar Nagar on Monday.

The theft held when the family was out.

According to the Police sources, the mobile phone stolen belonged to Yadav’s mother and cash was stolen from his wife’s purse. The Yadavs had left home at 7 pm and returned home at 3 am.

Though no official complaint has been filed yet the cops have already rounded up two. A team of Ambazari police has left for Madhya Pradesh to bring another who had fled the place.

However, Police suspected that the were workers engaged in construction at the apartment below the one which belonged to Yadavs. “The suspects may have accessed Yadav’s apartment from the rear side. There is a space which can be used by the suspects to gain entry from the apartment below that of the Yadavs,” said a police personnel.

As Yadav had to leave for Sri Lanka early morning, his manager is expected to lodge a formal complaint at Ambazari police station later on Tuesday. The investigations are on in the case.
