Jan 4: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday produced Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in the Bhubaneshwar Court.
The TMC MP was yesterday sent to the CBI custody. CBI arrested Sudip Bandopadhyay and Tapas Pal following their alleged involvement in the Rose Valley chit fund scam.
Condemning the arrest of two Trinamool Congress MPs, its activists on Wednesday protested in front of the CBI office. Party workers led by TMC MLA Akhil Giri staged a demonstration in front of the CBI office. They also announced a mega rally on January 10 in Bhubaneswar.
“The BJP has hatched a vain plan to eliminate our party after Mamata Banerjee took out a nationwide movement against demonetisation. The allegations against our MPs are completely baseless,” Giri said.
TMC party workers also carried out protests in Delhi.
