Robbers steal cash and jewellery from passengers onboard Jhelum Express

Jammu, Oct 14: The robbers sneaked in Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express while the passengers were in a sound sleep and took away the valuables.

They stolen Cash, electronic items and jewellery belonging to at least three passengers, one of them an army personnel, onboard the Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express on Saturday, railway police said.

As the train reached the Ambala Cantt. station, the passengers noticed that their valuables were missing and they reported the matter to the Government Railway Police.

The train stopped at the station for over 30 minutes as the police completed formalities.

A senior GRP official at the station said an FIR has been registered following the complaint of the passengers and the matter was being investigated.

According to a passenger, the Gang of robbers used a spray on all the passengers, due to which everyone fell unconscious after which they had stolen all the cash and jewellery.

Another passenger Namrata added that a bomb rumour was also spread among the passengers due to which they left stranded for 6 hrs.
