Roads to avoid in Delhi during Independence Day

New Delhi, Aug 13: As the 72nd Independence Day is around the corner, security has been deployed across the country and Delhi police have imposed the traffic restrictions on roads connecting to Red Fort.

In the view of the security measures, commuters will not able to park their vehicles at the Delhi Metro stations from 6 am on August 14 till 2 pm on August 15.

Following roads will be closed  for general traffic from 5 am to 9 am

Netaji Subhash Marg

Lothian Road

SP Mukherjee Marg

Chandni Chowk Roadffic 

Nishad Raj Marg and its Link road to Netaji Subash Marg

Esplanade Road and its Link road to Netaji Subash Marg

According to the Delhi traffic police advisory, vehicles without parking stickers for the rehearsal parade have been asked to avoid Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Subhash Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg and Ring Road between Nizamuddin Bridge and ISBT Bridge, and to take the alternative route.

Inter-state buses will not be operational between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT from 4 am to 11 am.

While local buses, including DTC, will not run on Ring Road from 4 am to 11 am on August 15.
