New Delhi, Sep 18: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government over recent gangrape of a 19-year-old girl in Haryana and said India hangs its head in shame as another one of its daughters is brutally gang-raped.

Gandhi also hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stated his silence is unacceptable.

“India hangs its head in shame as another one of its daughters is brutally gang-raped. Prime Minister, your silence is unacceptable. Shame on a government that leaves India’s women unprotected and afraid and allows rapists to walk free”, he tweeted.

The teenage girl was allegedly abducted by three boys belonging to her village when she was returning from her coaching class in Kanina.

Later she was taken to a secluded place, where the accused allegedly gave her a drink after which she couldn’t regain her consciousness and gang-raped.

Meanwhile, victim’s mother is demanding justice for her daughter from the Prime Minister whose government slogan is beti bachao , beti padhao.
