Rewari gang-rape: Khattar government should resign, says Hooda

New Delhi, Sep 14: Reacting to the alleged CBSE topper gang-rape, Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that Manohar Lal Khattar led government should resign on the moral grounds. 

“The law and order in state has totally failed. The Haryana government should resign on moral grounds” he told media.

A nineteen-year-old CBSE topper, who was rewarded by President of India, was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped in Rewari district.

The victim’s mother is demanding justice for her daughter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose government slogan is beti bachao , beti padhao.

The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday when the teenager was returning from her coaching class in Kanina.

The teenager told police that she was kidnapped by two boys belonging to her village. Following this, she was taken to a secluded place, where the accused gave her a drink after which she couldn’t regain her consciousness.

New Delhi, Dec 10: Reacting to RBI Governor Urjit Patel’s resignation, Senior Congress leader  Kapil Sibal made a satirical attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying PM thinks that he’s the biggest economist and he doesn’t need them.

“People he (PM) appointed are resigning, first Arvind Subramanian left as CEA and now it’s Urjit Patel. Economy is suffering, Modi thinks that he’s the biggest economist and he doesn’t need them, so they are resigning”, the former Union Minister told media.

Earlier in the evening, the Reserve Bank of India Governor resigned from his post citing personal reasons.

“On account of personal reasons, I have decided to step down from my current position (RBI Governor) effective immediately. It has been my privilege and honour to serve in the Reserve Bank of India in various capacities over the years”, Patel said in a statement.

In June this year, Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian also resigned due to personal reasons.

Watch Video: Owaisi reaches Telangana CM’s house on bike

Hyderabad, Dec 10: AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi reached Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s official residence on his motorbike on Monday for a luncheon meeting with him ahead of the declaration of Assembly election results.

Owaisi and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief have been discussing possible scenarios and the strategy to be adopted after the results are known on Tuesday.

Before his meeting with KCR, Owaisi tweeted that he was going to meet Telangana’s caretaker and “next Chief Minister”.

“Inshallah, he’ll form government on his own strength, and Majlis will stand by him. This is our first step towards a larger goal of nation building,” the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief tweeted.

AIMIM had seven members in the previous 119-member Assembly and this time the party contested eights seats, all in Hyderabad. In the rest of the state it extended support to TRS.

New Delhi Dec 10: After the opposition parties meeting, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said our goal is to defeat BJP, protect India’s constitution and our institutions.

“This is a process and it is bringing together everybody. I said in the room that voices in this room are voices of the opposition in the country; our goal is to defeat BJP, protect India’s constitution and our institutions”, he told media.

“In the middle of the meeting(of opposition leaders), we were told that RBI Guv has resigned because he could no longer work with govt. There was consensus in the room that we’ve to stop BJP’s assault on our institutions- CBI, RBI, EC & on the constitution”, he stated.

The meeting held at at the Parliament House Annexe on Monday in the national capital- a day ahead of the five state assembly poll results.

A total of 17 parties are present in the meeting of opposition leaders that is underway. No representation from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) yet.

Today’s meeting is called by Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu in a bid to bring all the anti-BJP parties under a single umbrella.

Opposition leaders including Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, National Conference chairman Farooq Abdullah, DMK President MK Stalin and others attended the meeting.

Earlier in a day, Andhra Pradesh CM and TDP Chief met National Conference chairman Farooq Abdullah and Congress leader Ahmed Patel.

Meanwhile, Stalin along with party leaders Kanimozhi, A Raja and TR Balu met Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

In the last few months, Naidu had called on strings of opposition leaders.
