New Delhi, Sep 15:Authorities have imposed restrictions in several parts of the city to prevent protests against the killing of top LeT commander Abu Ismail, who was behind Amarnath Yatra attack.
Earlier, on Thursday prohibitory orders under the Code of Criminal Procedure was clamped in Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal.
“Restrictions under Section 144 of the CrPc have been imposed to maintain law and order,” a Jammu and Kashmir police official stated.
As a precautionary measure, all schools and colleges have been closed in the city.
Meanwhile, rail services between Baramulla and Bannihal have also been suspended.
State Director General of Police S.P.Vaid said since January 147 militants have been killed by the security forces in Kashmir so far.
Besides this, he also admitted that there was still a large number of militants operating in the state.
