June 29, Thursday : In a bid to ease day-to-consumer transaction, printing of currency notes of Rs 200 denomination has begun in one of the government-owned organisation.
As per Economic Times report, New currency notes of Rs 200 are being printed in one of the government-owned facilities after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) placed an order, two weeks ago.
New denomination of Rs 200 will come with advanced security features to halt counterfeiting.
Earlier, few weeks ago the Reserve bank of India placed an proposal for introduction of new denomination to the government.
After examining the introduction of new currency notes, government gave a green signal to it.
Last year, in November the central government took a bold step to scrap old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
