New Delhi, April 14: Nations celebrates the 126th birth anniversary of Dalit icon BR Ambedkar on April 14. The Dalit icon Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar is very well known for his contribution to the independent nation.
On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his tributes to B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of India’s Constitution, saying “We are unwavering in our efforts towards creating a strong, prosperous & inclusive India of Dr. Ambedkar’s dreams.”

PM Modi will today visit Nagpur where he will visit a sacred place closely associated with the Dalit icon and inaugurates a series of development projects which includes an AIIMS, an IIIT, an IIM and the Koradi thermal power station.

Several leaders like M Venkaiah Naidu, Rajnath Singh, Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Congress’ Sonia Gandhi also paid respect to B R Ambedkar.
BR Ambedkar also known as Baba Shaeb was an economist, politician, Indian jurist and social reformer who inspired campaign against social discrimation and untouchables (Dalits) and the rights of Women and Labour.
Born on April 14, 1891 to Bhimabai Sakpal and Ramji in Madhya Pradesh, Ambedkar died on December 6, 1956.
Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated throughout the world especially by Dalits.
