New Delhi, March 6 : French envoy to India, Alexandre Ziegler said that his country recognize legitimacy of India’s airstrike on Pakistan and reiterated France’s resolution to push for JeM chief Masood Azhar’s listing as a global terrorist at UNSC.
” Of course we recognize legitimacy of India to assure its security against cross border terror. We also welcomed the release of Wing Commander Abhinandan. Easing of tension was also a relief,” Envoy said.
While encouraging India’s action against terrorism, Ambassador of France to India Alexandre Ziegler said, “there shouldn’t be any tolerance of terror”. He further opines that France will push for designation of Masood Azhar as global terrorist at United Nations Security Council (UNSC). His country has already been pushing Masood Azhar as global terrorist at UNSC for the last two years.
“We believe there should be no tolerance of terror. So yes, we will push for designation of Masood Azhar as a global terrorist, at UNSC, have been pushing for it for past 2 years as well. Not designating him doesn’t make sense,” the envoy added.
France, which assumed the March Presidency of the United Nations Security Council, has reiterated its support for India as the permanent member of the UNSC.
