Ravi Shankar Prasad’s false claims , In 2013, ‘PM chor hai’ slogans were raised in Parliament

New Delhi, Sep 23 : When Congress president called Narendra Modi –  ‘a thief’  as he alleged that Prime Minister ‘Desh ka chowkidaar chor hai’ because Modi is directly involved in  Rafale Deal scam, Union Minister of Law and Justice Ravi Shankar Prasad  made a false claim, when he stated  that never before in history of independent India, has a party president used such words for a PM.

While countering the allegations leveled by Congress President against Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the Rafale deal,Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad objected to the remark ‘PM is a thief”used by Rahul Gandhi.

Ravi Shankar Prasad must be reminded that in 2013, BJP MPs called former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ‘Chor’ hai .

On August 30, 2013, Manmohan Singh had directly attacked the Opposition BJP for calling him a ‘chor’ (thief). The Ex-PM said, “Have you heard of any country where MPs shout and walk to the well of the House and say ‘Prime Minister chor hai (the PM is a thief)?”

“Despite what some members may say, I do command a certain respect in the council of ministers”, he added.

Rahul Gandhi made a blistering attack on PM Modi,”former French president Francois Hollande is calling the Prime Minister of India a thief” and that the PM needs to break his silence.

Calling the Rafale deal a scam, Rahul Gandhi said it was “obvious that PM Modi is corrupt.” Law Minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad angrily responded that Rahul Gandhi had made a “shameful, irresponsible statement”.

“It is very important for PM now to either accept Mr. Hollande’s statement or state that Mr. Hollande is lying. He must tell us what the truth is. It is a question of the dignity of the office of Prime Minister. It is the question of the future of our jawans and the Air Force,” Gandhi said on Saturday, adding that for the first time, “an ex-French President has called our PM a thief”
