New Delhi, Dec 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party will move vacation bench of the Supreme Court challenging the order of the division bench of Calcutta High Court on BJP’s Yatra in West Bengal.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Debasish Kargupta and Justice Shampa Sarkar on Friday quashed the single bench order of allowing the rath yatra.
The court sent the case back to the single bench with a directive that the latter consider the intelligence inputs provided by the state agencies.
Prior to this, the bench of Justice Tapobrata Chakraborty on December 20 gave conditional permission to the BJP and allowed three rath yatras.
The Court had said that organisers will be liable for any untoward incident or damage to public property.
