Alwar, Dec 1 :Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Rafale deal,Congress leader and Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said that ‘chowkidar’s dog is also a thief.
Hinting that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Centre spiked up the deal price for personal gains, Sidhu said, “500 crore ka plane 1600 crore mein? 1100 crore kiski jeb mein dale, andar ki baat kis ke liye thi? Chowkidar ka kutta bhi chor se mil gaya hai (A plane that cost Rs 500 was bought for Rs 1600? In whose coffers did the remaining Rs 1100 go? Where is this hidden information? The gatekeeper’s dog has also joined theives).”
The cricketer-turned-politician stirred the controversy at a rally in poll-bound Rajasthan’s Alwar.
Taking to Twitter after returning from Pakistan, Sidhu said he went to Pakistan on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s personal invite and also because Congress president Rahul Gandhi had asked him to make the visit.
On Friday, Sidhu had said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi was his ‘captain’, which was seen by many within the Punjab Congress as a dig at Singh.
