Rajasthan govt changed the ‘Land Use’ for BJP offices

Jaipur, Aug 17, 2017: The Vasundhara Raje government in Rajasthan racked up controversy after making changes in land use to create a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) office in all the districts of the state despite the ban of the Rajasthan High Court.

Actually, the BJP wants to open its office in all the 33 districts of the state. For this, the government is allocating land in 28 districts. Out of which, the land has been allocated in 14 districts. The special thing is that the land which is given to the BJP offices is residential and commercial. But the Rajasthan government changed the land use of this land only. However, the Rajasthan High Court has been banned from doing so.

Regarding changing land use, the Rajasthan High Court has ordered that land use can not be changed unless there is a widespread public interest issue. The BJP government has made this point in the High Court on the basis of this point and wrote that in the wider public interest, land use for BJP offices should be changed.

BJP said that Rajasthan has alloted land allotment to political parties in the allocation policy, 2015. The BJP is being allotted land at 15 percent rate apart from the reserve rate.

While Congress alleges that by changing the land use, BJP is opening the office at a prime place in less money and demanding that this matter will be taken to the Election Commission and the Court.
