Rajasthan ATS arrests Chennai man over alleged ISIS links

Rajasthan, July 4: The Rajasthan Anti Terrorist Squad has nabbed a person from Chennai in connection with the alleged terror links. The suspect was arrested in wee hours on Monday from the Burma Bazar.

According to the ATS officials, the man identifies as Haroon had allegedly transferred funds to an ISIS module in India. His name had cropped up during the interrogation of two other accused who were arrested from Tamil Nadu earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the officials will interrogate the man.

The arrest comes just a couple of months after the Rajasthan ATS had held one Mohammad Iqbal from Chennai on the allegation that he had links with the Islamic State.

The ATS had also traced an operative recently in Thiruvallur. It was said that the person in question Jamil Ahmed was a fundraiser for the outfit. It was during the questioning of Ahmed that the name of Iqbal had cropped up.
